Not Quite Boot Camp

I don't know that anyone will read this, but I'm going to say it anyway...

Starting Sunday, I'm getting off my butt and doing what I'm supposed to. For the past three weeks, I've been getting up early and going to the gym, but I haven't followed it up with cardio and diet. (Cardio - no excuse. Diet - its been a bit hectic)

Come Run With Us

Marcus and I did the Walt Disney World half marathon on January 9. We both had done a half marathon before, but never in such a large group.

The run was great. It started outside EPCOT, ran over Disney roads, then through the Magic Kingdom (including running through Cinderella's castle), and back to EPCOT.

Boot Camp is Over. Now What?

One of the worst things about boot camp is when it ends. Yes, it is wonderful to not have people yelling at you to "Hold Plank!!" for an hour, but what do you do after that in order to not lose the progress you made?

If you quit when things get hard, you will never realize exactly what you can do and how far you can go.

Confession Corner

Okay, so I did boot camp last year. Three of them, in fact. Since then... let's just say I fell off the wagon and haven't tried to catch it till recently.

I went from 270 (1/09) to 237 (8/09), mostly because of boot camp. However, after August, I have done very little, except run occassionally. I'm back around 255. I CONFESS!!

5:30PM FRIDAYS: To clarify the prior email about possibly combining the Friday 5:30pm & 6:30pm class, we would be combining the two classes at 5:30pm, not 5pm like my email said. That's what I get for rushing! haha Smile THIS FRIDAY we will hold BOTH times to analyze attendance.

5:30AM CLASSES: With the exception of meeting extra early to do inbodies today, we will be opening the gym 5 minutes early (5:25am) so everyone has enough time to get to class. ALSO, 5:30am THURSDAYS WILL BE AT LONGEVITY in the aerobics room. ALL OTHER CLASSES Thursdays will be at the Max.

8:00AM & 9:00AM CLASSES: We will be offering BOTH 8am an 9am classes daily.

HEART RATE MONITORS: Bill, from Runner's Depot just called and said the original heart rate monitor (for $50) doesn't record calories burned so he's ordering a step up from that which WILL count calories and will work with heart rate monitors on commercial treadmills and cardio equipment (like POLAR). I think he said the cost was $69 (plus he's going to give us 10% OFF). They should be in by the end of the week.

Also, he will be ordering other versions that are a step up from this one and ones that are pretty, etc. This one is just going to be the most affordable. Smile
